Ruturaj Gaikwad dedicates his engagement to the people of Chennai
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS STAR Ruturaj Gaikwad has announced that he's dedicated his engagement to the peope of Chennai.
The right-handed batter was born in Pune and grew to prominence playing for the Maharashtra team. But since 2019, he has been an integral part of the CSK squad, and a fan-favourite among its supporter base.
Which is why, when the Indian international got engaged to his now-wife Utkarsha Pawar, they decided to have a South Indian-style ceremony.
Ruturaj opened the batting for Chennai when they were chasing down Gujarat's total in the IPL final. He got the momentum going for them early with a quick 26 runs off 16 balls. CSK got to their target on the very last ball, registering one of the all time great IPL final victories.
The fans of the yellow-clad team will be waiting eagerly to welcome Ruturaj, and his new family, to their team and city when the next season of IPL gets underway.
