Global Chess League: franchise jerseys and logos unveiled

The Global Chess League today unveiled the franchise logos and team jerseys at Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla, Mumbai, as part of the chess celebrations leading up to the inaugural edition scheduled to kick-start in Dubai from June 21st, 2023, to July 2nd, 2023. 

In continuation to the Global Chess League drafts held last week in Mumbai, the teams revealed their team logos (Ganges Grandmasters, SG Alpine Warriors, Balan Alaskan Knights, Chingari Gulf Titans, upGrad Mumba Masters, Triveni Continental Kings) and jerseys in a grand event with many chess fans in attendance. The event witnessed digitized team jerseys being displayed across the LED walls of the Phoenix Marketcity.

The event was hosted and organised by Phoenix Group, which has been onboarded as the 'Official Mall Partners' of the Global Chess League for the next three years. As part of the association, Phoenix Group will host two-day tournaments across five cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Indore, in the lead-up to the Global Chess League. Further, Phoenix Group will also host watch parties in Mumbai and Pune for the league's grand final on 2nd July 2023.

The Global Chess League was created for chess fans, and we are thrilled that they witnessed the jersey reveal and participated in the two-day Chess tournament to build excitement for the league's first edition. The annual league will feature a unique mixed-team format wherein, each of the six franchises will play a total of 10 matches in a double round-robin format, with the winner of each match being decided in a best-of-six board scoring system played simultaneously. The top two teams will qualify for the final on July 2, 2023 in Dubai.
