INDIAN SHUTTLERS PUT ON a dominant performance at the Thailand Open badminton tournament today, led by a notable singles victory by superstar PV Sindhu.
Taking on her Malaysian opponent Kisona in the round 2 of women's singles, Singhu claimed victory in straight games by 21-10, 21-12 margin, booking her place in the quarter finals.
She will take on Ratchanok Intanon, a hometown favourite, in her next encounter.
Meanwhile in men's doubles, defending champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty faced tough competition from their South Korean opponents Choi Sol-gyu and Seo Seung-jae. After they clinched the first game 21-18, the second game saw a heart-racing back and forth until the Indian paid managed to claim the victory at 23-21.
Up next on their schedule is a quarterfinal encounter with a Malaysian duo, Ong Yew Sin & Teo Ee Yi.
Another Indian pair, Arjun Madathil Ramachandran & Dhruv Kapila went down to their British opponents Ben Lane & Sean Vendy by a margin of 9-21, 11-21.
