119 AT THE BULL RING 2013
119 AT THE BULL RING
Kohli's innings of 119 in the first Test against the Proteas in Johannesburg remains one of his best ever in overseas conditions. On a bouncy, pacy wicket at the Wanderers, and against the likes of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, the Delhi lad came out all guns blazing and scored a splendid century in the first innings. In fact, he was the only centurion in the innings. In the second innings too, he could have got a 100, but fell short by four runs. Kohli's silenced one and all with his ability to counter pace and bounce. In fact, his century gave India a respectable score and although Pujara also chipped in with a brilliant 153 in the second innings, it was Kohli who set the tone for the visitors. With a strike rate of 65 and 18 fours, it remains one of his best till date.
