Perhaps, Kohli's great Test match inning or rather innings came at the Adelaide Oval in 2014. This was the very Test match of the tour and India could have easily surprised the Aussies in their own backyward. Kohli got twin-hundreds (115 & 141) by taking the attack to the Aussie bowlers. In both innings, Kohli didn't get much support, but the way he showed courage, yet the temperament to handle the likes of Johnson, Lyon and company was incredible. From pull, cut to drive, Kohli displayed a full range of strokes and entertained the spectators at the Adelaide Oval. In the end, India lost by 48 runs, but Kohli had put the visitors on the cusp of a famous win. After that game, Kohli has rightfully earned the respect of the Aussies.
