Indian MMA team arrives in Bahrain For IMMAF World Championship

THE INDIAN MMA TEAM HAS landed in Bahrain for the IMMAF World Championship which will start on November 12 at the Khalifa Sports City Arena.
Headed by Coach Alan Fenandes, eleven fighters are scheduled to compete at the championship which is taking place outside the United States for the very first time.
The Indian contingent includes four female fighters and it also marks the first time that All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA) is sending female athletes to the World Championship.

Below is the list of fighters who will be representing the nation and their respective weight categories:
- Naipunya Sunil – Strawweight
- Saloni Avhad –Flyweight
- Nishigandha Rao –Flyweight
- Divya Nagaraj – Lightweight
- Pathian Malsawmdawngliana –Flyweight
- Shiva Raj –Flyweight
- Aakash Gautam – Bantamweight
- Anurag Sharma – Featherweight
- Krishna Kumar Yadav – Featherweight
- Suraj Kumar – Welterweight
- Ajit Negi – Light Heavyweight
The IMMAF World Championship is part of the International Combat Week which will also see Brave 9: Kingdom of Champions where the likes of Mohammed Farhad, Gurdarshan Mangat, Atif Mohammed, and Hardeep Rai are set to fight.
