Indian MMA: Another disappointing outing For Indian Team at IMMAF championship

THE 2017 IMMAF AFRICA OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP ended in disappointment for India. None of the Indian fighters managed to pick up a win at the event.

Suhaib Lodge, who fought in the Light Heavyweight Category was defeated by Frikkie Bendeman in the first round but was given the bronze medal despite the loss.

A similar situation occurred with Raish Muhamad Musa in the Flyweight category. He was also awarded a Bronze medal even after a losing effort against Wade Kerspuy. Musa, however, managed to push Kerspuy to the distance.

The case of Vikram MN, who fought at Featherweight was no different. After a first round defeat against Russia’s Abdulmanap Magomedov, Vikram was given the Bronze medal.

The outing at African IMMAF championship marks yet another disappointing showing by the Indian team on the international stage as they had failed to get a win at the IMMAF Asian Open Championship as well.
