Amit Kumar Saroha bagged silver in club throw event; dedicates it to the Indian Army

INDIA’S SECOND MEDAL at the 8th World Para Athletics Championships in London comes via the club throw F-51 event.
Amit Kumar Saroha threw the club to a distance of 30.25 meters. The winning throw cam in his third attempt. The throw not just won him a silver but also helped smash the Asian record.

Saroha, the first quadriplegic to represent India at a Paralympic Games in 2012, will also take part in men's discus throw F52 final on Tuesday.

India won her first medal when Sundar Singh Gurjar took gold in the F-46 Javelin throw on Day 1 of the games. With Amit Kumar Saroha’s silver, India’s tally stands at two medals.

Amit shares his emotions on how he was able to stay neck to neck in the club throw competition. He commends his coaches and supporting staff in his victory and making him successful. Amit also heaped praises on the Haryana state government for the wholehearted support and equal opportunities provided to all para-athletes.
