Gujarat have an outside chance to qualify for the play-offs, says Irfan Pathan

GUJARAT LIONS all-rounder Irfan Pathan has reckoned that his side has an ‘outside chance’ to make it to the play-offs.

After winning just three out of 10 games, the Gujarat franchise is currently placed seventh in the rankings table, however, Pathan is hopeful that his side can contend for the title if they win the remaining four matches. As reported by ANI, Pathan said,

"We are still left with four matches. We have an 'outside chance' to come close to the title, if we win all the remaining matches and maintain a good run rate. We are completely focussing on our remaining matches."

Speaking about the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, the 32-year-old said that he hopes the defending champions perform the same they did in the previous edition.

"I wish the Indian team for a good performance in the Champions Trophy. I hope whoever gets selected for the tournament performs well. It is good that the players are heading into the Champions Trophy after the IPL. I am sure they will be benefited from this and would perform in the same way they did in the last edition."
