Dhoni doesn’t speak much but his presence inspires us, says Rahane

RISING PUNE SUPERGIANT will play their first game of IPL 10 against Mumbai Indians at Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium, on April 6. Ahead of the match, Rahane is confident that RPS skipper Steve Smith will seek advice from India veteran MS Dhoni.

The Mumbai-lad stated that Dhoni, who was removed from the RPS captaincy early this year, will continue to inspire the team with his presence. As reported by Hindustan Times, he said,

“A person like MS Dhoni teaches a lot even with his presence. He doesn’t speak much, but when he does, he leaves you inspired.”

During the promotional event, Rahane also recalled his debut win as Test captain and credited Sachin Tendulkar for motivating him before the match.

“Before the match, I got a call from Sachin. He also asked me to follow my instincts. It inspired me. As a captain, I knew I am a different person. On the ground, I knew I had seniors with me, but at the end, I had to take calls. Throughout the match, I wanted to follow my style.”
