People need to look back at their careers before talking about Dhoni, says Shastri

INDIA HEAD COACH Ravi Shastri has thrown his weight behind MS Dhoni and iterated that people pointing fingers at the former India skipper need to reflect on their careers.

Dhoni’s performance had come under the scanner after the likes of VVS Laxman and Ajit Agarkar criticized the Ranchi-lad for his ordinary show in the first T20 against New Zealand in Mumbai. As reported by PTI, Shastri backed Dhoni and said,

“People should look back at their career before commenting on Dhoni. The former captain has a lot of cricket left in him and it is the duty of the team to back the legend.”

Referring to his experience, the former India team director said there is no one better than Dhoni in terms of what he brings to the table.

“There is no one better than Dhoni on the field given his ability behind the wicket and with the bat and his presence of mind and sharpness on the field.”
