HEARD ON THE STANDS: Federation Cup will not have home-away format this year

THIS YEAR'S FEDERATION CUP may be hosted at Shillong and Guwahati reports suggest. Also, the format is said to be that played in the 2014-15 edition.

It is likely to have 10 teams split into two groups of five teams each. Also, is may be jointly hosted at Guwahati and Shillong this year. The 38th edition of the Federation Cup was earlier expected to be hosted at Bengaluru but due to lack of enough practice grounds, it may not be confirmed as one of the venues for hosting the Cup.

Last year for the Federation Cup 2015-2016 was two-legged tournament on a home and away basis. Federation Cup final was played at Guwahati and Mohun Bagan turned out victorious for a record 14th time
