Raphael Assuncao vs Alijamain Sterling
Both men, coming off losses, have been matched up in this FS1 prelims highlight, where the Brazilian, ranked no.4, is set to take on the American, ranked no. 7 in the division. Sterling is coming off a close decision loss against Bryan Caraway last year, while Assuncao got thoroughly outclassed by former champ TJ Dilashaw at UFC 200, in his last outing.
Assuncao has been flying under the radar, for far too long, in the UFC's bantamweight division, with wins over elite competition and his overall experience under the UFC banner. Sterling, on the other hand, was undefeated until his last outing, where the experience of the vet Caraway is what did him in.
I like Assuncao's chances in this fight, with his crisp & quick striking, good takedown defence and excellent grappling skills. His experience should see him get the win over a game 'Funkmaster' in an exciting fight.
