Cody Garbrandt vs TJ Dillashaw

Let's get the obvious one out of the way here, shall we?

It's a no-brainer given that both men had the kind of showings they did on Friday night, that Dillashaw is the only matchup that makes sense for the new champion.

Just the fact that Cruz has been the only minor blemish (disputed by many, including this writer) in the run of T J Dillashaw, the past couple of years, is argument enough that he is deserving of another crack at the title, which should have happened last Friday night.

But better things come to those who wait, goes the saying, and now that Garbrandt is the champion and given the history between both men, the timing is just right for a Dillashaw vs Garbrandt fight to happen. Outside of all the drama potential, this fight will also be a great test for the new champ, who surprised everybody watching, with his effective adaptability  against Cruz's unique style of fighting.

Dillashaw, although similar, is a different type of movement fighter than Dominick Cruz. Whereas Cruz cuts angles and is trying to outpoint his adversaries, Dillashaw is more linear in his movement and is more precise with his strikes and takedowns.

The one major point of difference in this fight could be the size difference between both men, as Garbrandt is a much larger bantamweight than the former champion, who may have the speed advantage over the young champion.
