TFG SmackDown Review: Cena returns, New champions, Mystery woman

SMACKDOWN ONCE AGAIN PROVED that it’s the better show when compared to Monday Night Raw. The show had three title matches and the return of John Cena on showcase and most importantly, managed to live up to the expectations.

Cena and Styles confronted each other

The mysterious woman

La Luchadora was a gimmick that Becky Lynch had undertaken last week so that she could earn a shot at Alexa Bliss. She did get her shot this week but it was the same La Luchadora that worked against her. The mysterious masked woman cost Becky her chance to win the title and in turn helping Alexa to retain the gold. The identity of the masked woman would be a major storyline in the division next year.

American Alpha strikes gold

American Alpha ended their year on a high note by winning the WWE tag team championship from Wyatt Family. The four-corner elimination match lived up to the expectations. It was a miscommunication between Randy Orton and Luke Harper that resulted in the title changing hands and going forward this friction could turn out to be a major problem for the Wyatt Family.

AJ retains, Cena challenges

AJ Styles retained his WWE championship after an excellent main event which featured Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler as well. With the talent that was involved, the match was expected to excel and it did just that. After the match, Cena and AJ Styles had a showdown indicating that it could be the match that takes place at Royal Rumble.
