TFG Raw Review: Main event title match, Controversial angles and regular bookings

THE LAST EPISODE OF MONDAY NIGHT RAW of 2016 is in the books and it would be wrong to call the episode special. Same old booking with some high points here and there was what the episode was all about.

Reigns and Owens squared off in the main event

The CM Punk bomb

With Raw being held in Chicago, CM Punk chats were something that everyone saw coming. The fans in attendance did not hold anything back, but they were soon shut up by Stephanie McMahon who delivered a sick burn to the former WWE champion.

Stephanie said to the fans that if they chant for more than two minutes and fifteen seconds, they would last longer than Punk, poking fun of his UFC loss against Mickey Gall earlier this year. It was a great moment for the fans and WWE acknowledging CM Punk on his home turf was something that Attitude Era fans would be proud of.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows with heel brilliance

The Club has been misused by WWE for a long time. The heel brilliance of the team came back under the limelight this week when Anderson tore the head off the Dusty Rhodes Teddy bear that Bayley gifted Goldust. It was a controversial angle, but it has attracted heat towards Anderson and of course, it shows the willingness of WWE to step out of their PG zone.

Strowman gets his wish

Braun Strowman had been chasing Sami Zayn for some time now and he will finally get his hands on Zayn next week when they face off in a last man standing match. As for this week, Strowman faced Seth Rollins and it needed more than Rollins to keep Strowman down.

The US Title main event

The on-going feud between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens is what dominates the Raw main event scene. Owens and Reigns fought for the United States championship this week with Reigns coming out on top. The regular shenanigans from Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho were present and it’s about time WWE started to take a different path altogether.

Below are the complete results for the show:
