Cody Garbrandt wants to give the Bantamweight Title to a cancer survivor
CODY GARBRANDT is set to fight Dominick Cruz at UFC 207 for the UFC Bantamweight championship. It is one of the most highly anticipated fights on the UFC 207 card and irrespective of who wins; the fans are in for a treat.
A win for Cody, however, could turn out to be a fairy tale moment for Maddux. Ali Abdelaziz noted on his Instagram account that Cody wants to give the Bantamweight title to Maddux, who is a cancer survivor.
“Something really touched my heart this morning I was talking to @cody_nolove about giving maddux who's a kid who's been part of codys career since amature days and he survived cancer. Maddux is now cancer free and has been part of codys journey. As you see in the text I asked Cody if he wants me to ask the ufc to give the kid a replica belt after he wins and he said no ill keep the replica. Give the kid the real belt. Stuff like this truly inspires me and I'm grateful for people like Cody who always think about others before himself. @ufc 207 #andnew” Ali wrote.
Win or lose inside the octagon, Cody has certainly won hearts with such a statement.
