TFG SmackDown Review: Ellsworth destroyed, Triple threat match booked, Renee Young – Miz

ONCE AGAIN, SmackDown Live came up with an episode that turned out to be way better than Monday Night Raw on different levels.

Styles had a good week this time around

Ellsworth gets destroyed

James Ellsworth finally got his shot at the WWE championship this week and unfortunately for him, it did not end well. AJ Styles won the match in a matter of minutes and not only this, AJ rolled out a vicious beating after the match. The stay of Ellsworth in the main event scene seems to be over for the best but we never know.

Renee Young slaps Miz

The Miz one again proved that he is one of the best championship in the WWE by successfully defending his title against Apollo Crews. But rather than the match, it was what happened afterwards that made headlines. Renee Young, who had come to interview Miz, was insulted by the Intercontinental champion and the segment ended with Renee slapping Miz. A feud between Miz – Ambrose could be around the corner after this.

Triple Threat match for the WWE championship

Baron Corbin made his entry into the main event scene when he went up against Dolph Ziggler in a number one contender match. The match, however, ended in a double count out and both Ziggler and Corbin got a beating from AJ Styles. Daniel Bryan came out and booked a huge triple threat match for the WWE championship next week with Styles, Corbin and Ziggler competing for the gold. The match combined with the return of John Cena makes the next episode of SmackDown a must watch.

Below are the results from the show.

  • WWE Champion AJ Styles def. James Ellsworth
  • Intercontinental Champion The Miz def. Apollo Crews
  • Natalya admitted to attacking Nikki Bella
  • Dean Ambrose def. Luke Harper
  • La Luchadora def. Alexa Bliss
  • Mojo Rawley def. Curt Hawkins
  • Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin ended in a Double Count-Out, resulting in both Superstars facing off against AJ Styles for the WWE Championship next week
