WWE Roadblock Results: two major titles Changes, Heel turn and return

THE LAST WWE PAY-PER-VIEW of 2016 is done and dusted. Roadblock went on to attract a good amount of negative reactions from the fans as most of the booking decisions turned out to be predictable ones.

Reigns and Rollins stood tall in the end

Neville returns

The highlight of the show was perhaps the return of Neville. Neville not only returned, but made a huge impact by turning heel and entering the Cruiserweight division. The division had been struggling ever since it’s relaunch but the inclusion of Neville is bound to make matters interesting.

And New

New day had broken the record of Demolition this past week on Monday night Raw. Just day after this, the team dropped their Tag team championships to Cesaro and Sheamus. It is a well-deserved win for the duo and now that New Day is no longer champions, the tag team division of Monday Night Raw is bound to undergo a major shift.

The Hot Potato

When the Tag Team championship change was a talking point, Charlotte regaining the Raw Women’s championship from Sasha Banks was something that everyone saw coming. The title is being changed hands like a hot potato and this is what the fans have been complaining about. Whether or not Sasha would get a rematch is something that will make the fans tune into Monday Night Raw.

Chaos in main event

There were rumors of WWE trying to emulate the double championship win of Conor McGregor at Roadblock. Fortunately or unfortunately, WWE decided to go a different route. First, a turn from Chris Jericho was teased but later, it was revealed that the whole segment was Jericho’s idea of helping out his best friend. Roadblock went off air with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins standing tall with the main event scene needing an immediate new direction.

Below are the complete results:

  • Rusev def. Big Cass by count-out
  • Cesaro & Sheamus def. The New Day to win the Raw Tag Team Championships
  • Sami Zayn survived for 10 minutes against Braun Strowman
  • Seth Rollins def. Chris Jericho
  • WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann def. The Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins
  • Charlotte Flair def. Sasha Banks to win the Raw Women’s Championship (30-Minute Iron Man Match)
  • WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens def. Roman Reigns by Disqualification
