Conor McGregor gets boxing license in California, fuels Mayweather rumor

THE RUMORS ABOUT A SUPER FIGHT between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been making rounds for a long time now.

Conor recieves boxing license

Things have taken an interesting turn now as McGregor has received a boxing license in California.

"He got a license today and a federal ID. He's a California boxer now. He's qualified [as a boxer].  I'd love to see him fight in California. It just needs to be the right opponent. Certainly a high-level opponent. We're happy to license him. We're happy he's a California fighter." California State Athletic Commission executive officer Andy Foster told MMAFighting.com.

The news comes just days after UFC stripping Conor McGregor of the Featherweight championship. Both McGregor and Mayweather had been teasing a potential fight for some time now, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
