Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association launched by GSP and other MMA fighters
THE BIG MMA ANNOUCEMENT that Georges St- Pierre and other MMA fighters teased proved to be a Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association. Former Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney, along with fighters Georges St-Pierre, Donald Cerrone, Cain Velasquez, TJ Dillashaw and Tim Kennedy announced the association via a conference call today.
Rebney will serve as an advisor for the association and the group plans to establish a 50/50 revenue split between UFC and the fighters. Currently, according to the claims, UFC fighters only get around 8 percent of the revenue.
The fighters noted that the group will currently focus on UFC and also mentioned that they will be looking to recruit as many fighters as possible to the union including Conor McGregor.
