Chennai City FC submit their bid for I-League 2016-17 direct entry

CHENNAI CITY FC HAVE submitted their bid to participate in the I-League 2016-17 season as a direct entry corporate club. 

Based out of the Tamil Nadu capital, Chennai City FC started its journey as Nethaji SC and happens to be one of the oldest football clubs in the city. Since they went through a change of ownership, an aggressive phase of transformation has been triggered, with the aim to emerge as a contender in the national circuit. An ascent into the country's top division league is one of the major goals the club has been pursuing.

Chennai City are the third club to submit papers for a direct I-League entry, after FC Bardez from Goa and Minerva AFC from Punjab. It will be clear only after November 23rd which clubs among these three, if any, will get to play in the I-League this season.
