1- Referee issues and Expressing oneself

An overdue since the first edition of ISL, the quality of refereeing needs a lift sooner rather than later. Inconsistency is the word that speaks volumes about the standard of the decisions that match officials have made in the games. There have been decisions where a red card was actually deserving of just yellow and some incidents demanding of a straight red was just waved on as no-foul. Some referees have even balanced out their own bad decisions by giving another bad decision to the other team to not the let team feel he was unjust to them. ISL has two under-23 development players in the squad and the level of security to them must be at the pinnacle. If malicious fouls go unpunished, it leads to the encouragement and confidence that one can get away with it.

Another area of major concern is about the transparency. There have been occasions where a penalty or a clear offside have overturned a winning game to the point being shared like the game between Mumbai City and Delhi Dynamos ending in a 3-3 draw. The Coach of Mumbai never mentioned a word about it the post match and even praised Delhi efforts in the game. But later on, took to social media to expresses his feelingsan saying that the pictures of the game spoke for them. Why avoid talking about it on one platform and strike up matchstick at the other?

Another occasion when Pune City FC's Ravanan stamped Chennaiyin FC's Dudu in clear view of the everyone but some how it did not find a word of mention after the game. Why is there silence about such incidents that can even threaten a career of a professional? We wonder why most of the coaches have not spoken up on this issue.
