Conor McGregor fined $150,000 For UFC 202 bottle-throwing incident

UFC FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION Conor McGregor has been fined five percent of his fight purse for the bottle-throwing incident ahead of UFC 202.

Five percent of his fight purse of $3 Million measures up to a huge amount of $150,000 and along with this, McGregor was handed 50 hours of community service by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC). This will require McGregor to be part of the anti-bullying campaign for NAC.

The NAC voted unanimously for the penalty and McGregor apologized to the commission for his action.

“I just want to apologize for the incident; it was a very unusual incident that unfolded. I acted wrong and all I can say is I'm sorry,” Conor said.

The trial lasted for more than an hour and it even had points where the commission was considering imposing a $300,000 fine on McGregor.

Though Nate Diaz was not on the agenda on Monday, he is expected to face a bigger penalty considering that he was the one that started the chaos. The next meeting will take place on November 10.
