TFG Raw Review: Commissioners announced for Raw and SmackDown, Huge match for next week

WWE Rolled out another episode of Monday Night Raw this week and with the Drafts just days away, WWE had create some buzz. And make people talk is what they did with this week’s show.

WWE’s answer to The Final Deletion

Just days after TNA broke the Internet with their Final Deletion; WWE came up with an answer to this through New Day and Wyatt Family. From the moment WWE started the segment, it was clear that they wanted to counter what TNA did. And this caused some great social media outrage as well. Despite this, the segment did serve its purpose of making people talk although it was not in a way they wanted.

The Midcard titles get new contenders

WWE had a battle royal to determine the new number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. The battle royal had a packed line up, but it was Darren Young that walked away with the win. It makes sense to let Darren win with Bob Backland near him and this could be the start of a good push.

Zack Ryder got himself knocked out in a squash match against Sheamus on Raw but ended up getting an apparent title shot against Rusev later. Letting someone lose like that and then giving them a title shot is not the type of booking that we want, and Ryder looks weak heading into the eventual match.

Title Match for next week

Not having Roman Reigns to build up the main event of Battleground have been a major problem for the WWE creative team. They’ve been doing the best they could with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins and this week was no different. Rollins and Ambrose embarked on a great promo on Raw this week and not only did it entertain the fans, but it also set up a WWE Championship match between Rollins and Ambrose for next week.

New Commissioner of SmackDown

After a long break, Vince McMahon made his return to the WWE television and he came back to announce the new ‘commissioner’ of SmackDown ahead of the brand split. Both Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon were present during the announcement. Before Vince made the big reveal, he made both Stephanie and Shane state why they should run SmackDown. It was something that made the whole thing feel more important and set up the reveal properly. Later, Vince announced that Shane would be the commissioner of SmackDown when Stephanie McMahon was revealed as the commissioner of Raw.

Both Stephanie and Shane were also given a chance to reveal General Managers for their respective brands next week on Raw. Here are the complete results from Monday Night Raw.
