Bourgue blasts past Myneni in the semis of ATP Anning challenger

INDIA’S SAKETH MYNENI went down to Frenchman Mathias Bourgue 0-6, 1-3(ret) in the semis of the ATP Anning challenger today.

The Indian served miserably and couldn’t win even a single point on his second serve in the opening set. On the other hand, his opponent kept seizing the moment and won 25 points as compared to Myneni’s 6 and bageled the no.3 seed for the first set.

In the second set, Myneni retired with an injury and thus came an end to a very disappointing match by India’s second best singles player.

Bourgue got the job done in just under 40 minutes. Myneni is likely to move up in the men’s singles ranking after making the semis in this event.
