Messi-Ronaldo 'best footballer' debate turns into a crime scene

THE DEBATE OVER who is the better player between Messi and Ronaldo turned into a murder scene in Nallaspara, Mumbai on Saturday.

A 34-year-old Nigerian was stabbed to death by his fellow countryman and friend Chukwuma Nwabu (22).

According to NDTV Sports, the incident occurred the morning after a party to celebrate Obinna Michael Durumchukwu's 34th birthday on Saturday night.

The birthday boy argued that the Barcelona star is the best player in the world while Nwabu's favoured Real Madrid's Ronaldo.

The argument then took a physical turn with Nwabu allegedly throwing a glass tumbler at Michael which missed Michael's head and the hit the wall. Nwabu then picked up a glass shard and, in a fit of rage, slit the throat of the victim.

The flat owner found Michael lying in a pool of blood and called the police and the hospital, but it was too late. The Tulinj police arrived at the spot and arrested Nwabu .

"The fight which started from football debate ended up with a murder. We have arrested the accused under sections 302(murder) and 34(common intent) of the Indian Penal Code. We will produce the duo at Vasai court on Monday," Kiran Kabadi, police inspector, Tulinj police station told DNA.
