Myneni cruises into the finals of the ATP Delhi challengers, will play Frenchman Robert

WORLD NO.166 Saketh Myneni has successfully booked his place in the finals of the ATP Delhi challengers today after beating the no.2 seed Kimmer Coppejans 6-3, 6-2.

In the first set, both men had a decent percentage of points won on their first serve, but the Belgian struggled in his second delivery and could only manage to win 25% of his service points. With such poor serving, Myneni needed only one break of serve to nail the opener.

In the second set too Coppejans’ struggle continued on his serve, while the Indian won 100% of his points on the second serve. With two breaks of serve, the no.4 seed then went on to clinch the match in just about 58 minutes and progressed ahead into the finals.

In the finals, Myneni will play the Frenchman and World no.171 Stephane Robert tomorrow. If Myneni wins the finals, it will be his first ATP challengers singles title for the year. Meanwhile, the 28-year-old will also play his doubles finals with friend Sanam Singh and the duo will take on the experienced pairing of Mahesh Bhupathi and Yuki Bhambri.
