Hardik and I want to emulate what Pathan brothers did for India: Krunal Pandya

UNTIL SATURDAY, Indian domestic cricketer Krunal Pandya was an absolute unknown to many cricket fans in our country. However, after the elder sibling of current Indian cricketer, Hardik Pandya was absorbed by the high-profile Mumbai Indians during the player auction, Krunal is on the verge of being exposed into the limelight like his younger brother.

After (MI) acquired Krunal for 2crore for the IPL-9 season, the dream of seeing both brothers playing together has finally come true for the Pandya family.

As reported by espncricinfo,

“I always enjoyed Hardik’s success and he enjoyed mine. I told him on a lighter note that ‘Main zyaada mehenga player hoon [I am a costlier player than you], and he responded: ‘Chal, main India player hoon [get lost, I play for India].”

Krunal further added that their family will be delighted to see the two brothers playing in tandem.

“I am a left-arm spinner and he [Hardik Pandya] is a seamer, but we are both hard-hitting batsmen. Both of us have played together from childhood, be it at More sir’s club or for Baroda. We had a dream to play at a competitive level together; that like Pathan brothers even the Pandya brothers should do well. For our parents, sone pe suhaga jaisi baat hui [it was the icing on the cake].”

Meanwhile, Hardik will be taking part in India-Sri Lanka three-match T20 series starting from tomorrow.
