Westwood reportedly denies allegations of racism; AIFF, Bengaluru FC remain tight-lipped

BENGALURU FC HEAD COACH Ashley Westwood has reportedly denied the allegations against him, saying he did not make any racist comments towards the East Bengal team doctor.

After Bengaluru FC overcame the Red and Golds by a solitary goal at Barasat on Saturday, the home team's doctor Shambo Samrat Samajdar came out and alleged that the British coach had made derogatory comments about Indians during the match.

East Bengal are reportedly taking up the matter with AIFF, but even after a full day it is unclear whether the incident has found its place in the match commissioner's report.

Ashley Westwood and the rest of the Bengaluru FC establishment have remained tight-lipped about the whole matter but Westwood is believed to have vehemently denied the allegations to people close to him.

The AIFF is yet to make any official comment on the matter.
