Cricket Australia might not allow injured Starc to play in IPL 2016

AUSTRALIAN PACE SENSATION Mitchell Starc is currently nursing an ankle injury and is unlikely to play in the World T20 championships in India, but the left-armer might just recover in time for the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL).

However, Starc might not be allowed to play in the cash-rich tournament by Cricket Australia (CA).

The Australian newspaper, Perth Now stated,

"Shane Watson always felt the IPL was an ideal platform to build his body up with bowling loads, however CA are unlikely to risk his involvement in the helter-skelter tournament."

That said, the Aussie speedster didn’t write off his chances of playing in the Indian T20 league.

"That could be a possibility (playing in the IPL). I don't know at this stage. Again, it comes back to when I start bowling and how (the ankle) reacts to the bowling back on it again.”

"I guess there is no real time frame. There is the West Indies tri-series after that as well. There's cricket all throughout the year. I don't want to rush it. I'll make sure it's 100 per cent before I play my first game."
