Super Sony confirms he is staying back, Mohun Bagan fans breathe collective sigh of relief

MUMBAI CITY WINGER Sony Norde, who scored 2 goals last night against Atletico de Kolkata to ensure the franchise got its first ever win away from home, has announced that he will stay at Mohun Bagan during the upcoming I-League season.

Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone after the match, the Haitian international declared that his deal with Mohun Bagan has been done. He will be leaving for a short holiday back home and join the practice sessions at the club right after Christmas on 27th December.

This declaration brings an end to months of speculation about where the winger was going to end up ahead of I-League 2015-16. Sony Norde, who played 19 matches for Mohun Bagan in the I-League last season and scored 9 goals, played a crucial role in them winning the league title after 13 years, including delivering that surreal free kick that led to the last minute goal and photo finish to the championship race at Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore.

The news of the signing was universally welcomed by Mohun Bagan fans who breathed a sign of relief to have their hero from last season back at the club.
