Jwala joins the 'Give It Up' campaign
JWALA GUTTA, India's doubles champion has joined the campaign 'Give It Up', that urges people to give up their LPG subsidy. She was part of the event organised by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in Hyderabad. Her giving up the subsidy has helped K Renuka, who works as a helper in a school to get her LPG connection.
“I came to know about this ‘Give it Up’ programme just a couple of days ago. I am very happy to give up my subsidy for the benefit of these poor people who suffer because of pollution caused by using fuels like coal, firewood, and crop waste. I appeal everyone who can afford to give up their LPG subsidy,”
