Carlos wants more Indians in first XI, criticizes Robin for falling performance graph

THE DELHI DYNAMOS MARQUEE PLAYER-COACH Roberto Carlos believes that in order to speed-up the development of Indian players, their numbers should be increased in the ISL team line-ups.

Speaking to journalists ahead of the match against Atletico de Kolkata, Carlos said 5 Indian players in an ISL first was too less for ISL to benefit the development of Indian players at a proper pace,

"For the sake of the development of Indian football there needs to be more Indian players in the first eleven... this year's ISL is better than the last edition and it's a great opportunity for the Indian players to prove themselves."

But Carlos concedes that the foreigners playing in ISL are much better in quality than the Indians, compellingh coaches to make maximum use of them in order to gain competitive advantage,

"Having more foreign players makes it easier for the coaches."

When it comes to the star Indian players in his own team, Carlos is none too happy, especially when it comes to striker Robin Singh,

"He scored for us in the first match after returning from national duty. Since then his performance graph has gone down a lot."

Carlos will be leading the charge from the sidelines when Delhi Dynamos take on the defending champions in their own backyard in a crucial ISL round 7 fixture tonight.
