WATCH - Tamil Nadu outrun Railways, reach Women's National Football Championship final

TAMIL NADU HAVE qualified for the Senior Women's National Football Championship final for just the second time in their history.

Taking on Railways in the semi-final this morning, the 2017-18 season's champions got an early breakthrough when Priyadharshini scored just 3 minutes into the game.

The Railways defence recovered well from the shock and consolidated throughout the first half, but just after the break thing went awry when Supriya Routray scored an own goal, doubling Tamil Nadu's lead.

After this, it was up to national team star Indumathi kathiresan to finish the game by scoring the third goal for Tamil Nadu.

Although Diparnita Dey got one back for Railways in added time, it wasn't enough to turn things around for the team that had gone all the way to the finale in four of the last six seasons.

However, Diparnita's goal is notable for being the very first time Tamil Nadu have conceded this year.

Tamil Nadu will seek to make it two out of two when they take to the pitch for the grand finale on Wednesday.
