I-League 2020-21 -- Mohammedan Sporting sign UEFA Pro Licensee Jose Hevia as head coach

NEWLY PROMOTED I-LEAGUE CLUB Mohammedan Sporting have signed Jose Hevia as their head coach for the 2020-21 season.

The Spanish coach has been active in Indian football for the last few years, arriving in the country first in 2014 as the Technical Director for the Arsenal Soccer Schools in India.

Afterwards, he worked in national level clubs like FC Pune City, Minerva Punjab FC and Shillong Lajong, mostly on their academy setups.

The 48 year old  holds a UEFA Pro License and has been impressive in the development projects he has taken part in. With Mohammedan Sporting going through a major transformation with a new investor on board, they are looking to capitalize on this quality of the coach, along with him leading the first team.

The Black Panthers will begin their I-League journey in a couple of months. They last played in I-League back in 2013-14, and getting back there has been a struggle for them. The new management at the club are hoping for this season to lay the seeds for the popular club's resurgence at the national level.
