CFL 2023 HIGHLIGHTS: Two own goals fuel Mohammedan Sporting's 3-1 win over FCI

MOHAMMEDAN SPORTING GOT a rather peculiar win over FCI at the Calcutta Football League.

The reason this 3-1 win at their own ground stands out is because two of those MSC goals were scored by Food Corporation of India players.

Mahandi Molla and Deep Bag, two FCI defenders, fired into their own net as they tried to clear the ball. Both own goals came in the first half.

In the second half, Sourav Manna of FCI scored; but not in his own goal for a change. David Lalhlansanga, who has been successful up front for MSC this season, found the net towards the end of the game.

Mohammedan Sporting are still not all the way there when it comes to the race for top three in CFL Group A. They are at 5th place with 15 points from 6 matches. But three teams above them have played at least 2 matches more than them; which leaves room for the Black Panthers to catch up in the race to Super Six.
