INDIA MOVED up two places in the latest released FIFA men’s world football ranking. In March, India broke into the top 100 when India ranked 99.
The ranking are after India lost Kyrgyz Republic 2-1 in an away game in the last of the group matches in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. India had already qualified for the Cup prior to the game. With the win, Kyrgyz Republic made a massive jump of 40 places gaining rank 75 after having ranked 115 in the previous release.
India’s loss to Kyrgyz has impacted India to be placed in Pot 3 rather than a favourable Pot 2. Here are the 24 teams in the four Pots placed according to the latest released FIFA rankings.
The draw for the 2019 Asian Cup will be held on May 4 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
