The league leaders suffered their second ever defeat of the season, conceding two goals in the first half, first one due to a questionable penalty decision that Koffi put away, and the second thanks to a beautiful finish from Wayne Vaz. In the second half, Minerva Punjab got a goal back and even earned a penalty but Chencho shot wide to squander that opportunity to equalize.

In the end, with a 2-1 win, Churchill Brothers have escaped from the relegation spot, they are now 7th in the table with 13 points from 11 matches. Minerva Punjab are still firmly at the top with 26 points from 12 games but they must quickly return to winning ways if they want to secure the title.
