PBL 2017-18: Gabby Adcock to miss the rest of the ties for Chennai Smashers

A SET BACK for Chennai Smashers as they will be missing the services of their doubles star shuttler Gabriella Adcock after she picked up an injury during her team's tie against Delhi Dashers.

In the mixed doubles contest against Vladimir Ivanov/Ashwini Ponnappa, Gabby and her husband Chris were playing the final match of the tie that would decide the winner.

But in the first game, when the scores read 6-5 in favour of Ashwini/Ivanov, while hitting the shot back, Gabby twisted her ankle and fell to court with pain. She had to withdrew as she couldn't continue playing the match.

Days later, she took to social media to state that she won't be able to continue in PBL but hope to get back on court soon. Chennai fans won't be able to see the star in action as tonight the leg kick-starts in the city.
