Virat Kohli retains No.1 spot; Rohit Sharma breaks into the top 5 of ICC ODI rankings

FOLLOWING THE CONCLUSION of India’s five-match ODI series against Australia, Rohit Sharma has moved up four places to take the fifth spot in the latest ICC ODI rankings.

With 296 runs, Rohit finished the series as the highest run-getter in the home series. According to ICC report, the Maharashtra-lad is now on a career-best 790 rating points but his highest ranking has been third, which he attained in February 2016.

Meanwhile, skipper Virat Kohli continues to hold the No.1 position. Also, opener Ajinkya Rahane moved up four places to reach the 24th position while Aussie opening pair – Aaron Finch and David Warner also progressed on the rankings table. While Finch took the 17th position, Warner closed in on Kohli. He bridged the pre-series gap of 26 points to just 12 as he has moved to 865 points.
