Leading by example: Kohli rejects multi-crore deal with soft-drink brand

INDIA SKIPPER Virat Kohli has refused a lucrative offer from a soft-drink brand and stated that he does not believe in endorsing a product that he himself is not ready to use. The prolific batsman reckoned that accepting such an offer will set a bad precedent.

The 28-year-old has emerged as the epitome of fitness in the field of Indian cricket. He himself has admitted that it's his commitment to remain fit and healthy which has done wonders to his cricketing career. As reported by CNN-IBN, Kohli said, 

"When I started my fitness turnaround, it was more of a lifestyle thing initially. If something goes away from that, I would not want to be a part of that or be promoting that. If I myself won't consume such things, I won't urge others to consume it just because I'm getting money out of it."

Kohli’s men will lock horns with Australia in the first ODI at Chennai, on September 17.
