1. The curse of the International Fight week strikes again!

International Fight week is the biggest event on UFC’s calendar. It’s an annual event which takes place during the first two weeks of July. UFC matchmakers tend to create the best fight card of the year for the Fight week pay-per-view. However, for the past three years the fight card for the Fight week has been ruefully ruined by fighters pulling out.

At UFC 189 it was Jose Aldo who pulled out due to an injury. At UFC 200 it was Jon Jones who got high and was caught by USADA. This year it was Amanda Nunes who suffered some serious illness and had to be hospitalized. UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk offered to step-in and fight Shevchenko for a 125-pound title. However, the request was declined by the Nevada athletic commission. Thus, the ‘Bullet’ was also pulled out of the card.

UFC 213 was supposed to be the best fight card of the year. However, it was struck by the curse of the Fight week and ended up losing the highly anticipated bout between Robbie Lawler and Donald Cerrone. The curse struck again and UFC 213 also lost its previously scheduled main-event.
