Rafael Dos Anjos vs Tarec Saffiedine
Hard to believe that Dos Anjos, who was the champ just a year ago, has gone from headlining fight cards to fighting on the undercard for Fight Pass events in Singapore. Such is the nature of the fight game I guess!
His debut at welterweight should be an interesting affair, given the now-public struggles he was undergoing to make the 155-lbs weight limit previously. While he definitely has the advantage on the ground against Saffiedine, he may also have the advantage standing up as Saffiedine has shown in his last few fights an unusual reluctance to attack the feet.
The Belgian while having tremendous takedown defense, has not been able to capitalize on his much-vaunted striking pedigree much and has become a very defensive fighter, eking out decisions wins. Dos Anjos, on the other hand, is still extremely dangerous and had a great showing in his last fight against Tony Ferguson in which he won two rounds out of the stipulated five.
Prediction: RDA wins by decision
