Bikash Jairu thanks national team medical staff, shares his fight with injury

p in Mumbai. He was out for a brief peroid after repeated injury concerns and finally after a lay off but back to full fitness played a few games in the recently concluded I-League. In an article on the AIFF's website, Jairu spoke about his absence and how he was helped by the national team medical staff on the path to full fitness.

“It was a dark place to be in. I felt very disappointed and my confidence was low,” he says.

“I have seen others get injured and talked to them about how they dealt with their recovery. It was frustrating but I was patient,” 

The difficult times was made easier by the regular follow-up from the national camp staff. He explained further saying,

“Gigi George and Danny Deigan were of a huge help. They were in constant touch over whatsapp, email, calls and sent in their programme. The National Team medical staff always monitored my recovery."

"When you have someone caring for you so much, it motivates you further. If I have been able to recover fast, I owe it to them.”

“My mother was also always by my side adding to my confidence"

Jairu has seen the harsh reality of a players and wishes that injuries do not happen to anyone.

“I pray no one suffers any injury, ever.”

With his proir experience playing for India national team and being back to fitness, he got a call up for the national training camp and was delighted to know the news and shared

“I wasn’t expecting a call to the National Camp. I was delighted with the news. I hope I can repay the coach’s faith on me.”

On the next challenge for India he shares,

“Nepal and Kyrgyz Republic will be important matches for us,” he quips. “The video sessions, the dietary plans and the training methods are what I enjoy a lot in the National Camp. I follow the dietary plan even when I am away. It helps a lot,”
