Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC

Not the best season for last year's I-League winners. It has been a season to forget in the I-League. Playing the league for the first time under Albert Roca, the team got off to a flying start with maximum points in the opening games but as they season progressed, the team's progress graph took a down trend.

The champions looked lost as they failed to get many goals as fluidly as they had been under Ashley Westwood. This season become known for Bengaluru's worst run in their history after being winless in eight games in all competitions. They did gain some form back towards the end of the I-League when they registered big wins. Bengaluru FC's AFC Cup campaign saw them regain form and respect for their reputation when they went on to win 3 of 3 games only to lose recently to Abahani Limited Dhaka.

The former Federation Cup and I-League champions have a reputation to protect in the domestic track after having excelled in the first three years. If BFC cannot bring back the thrust with which they won the I-League and reached the final of the AFC Cup, big questions will be asked of Albert Roca ability to take charge of a champion side.
