Honorable mention: Goldberg

Goldberg shocked the wrestling industry late last year when he returned from a near 13-year layoff to compete against Brock Lesnar inside a WWE ring, at Survivor Series. At 50-years old, ring rust and time away alone would have meant the end of the wrestling careers for most. Also to note, Goldberg was an ex-football player who retired from that sport, on account of injuries.

However, as the adage goes, you 'never say never' in this business and just like that Goldberg is the reigning WWE Universal champion again and will be performing at his first Wrestlemania in 13 years, against the same man he was in the ring with for the last one, Brock Lesnar.

However, I expect the current wrestling run of the intense Atlanta native to be his last one. While it is a expected outcome, given Goldberg's public revelation that he's reliving his wrestling days for his family's viewing pleasure primarily, recent news have emerged of him signing a contract extension.

It would remain to be seen what and where Goldberg would be headed following this year's Mania, likely bets would be on him calling it a day and maybe getting inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame next year.
