MUMBAI ROCKETS continue to rock in the Premier Badminton League as they hunt down the Hyderabad Hunters in great fashion. Defeated them 3- (-1) with three matches to spare.
Once again Sung Ji Hyun and HS Prannoy stepping up to be the stars for their team.
The Hunters put Carolina Marin under pressure as she was playing the trump against Sung Ji . The Korean had defeated Marin in the league stage and the same was the case here. Winning the first game 11-6, Marin was on the driver's seat but then she fell prey to some amazing shots from Sung Ji and lost the following two games.
The Korean dominating it 11-6, 11-5. Trump match loss put the Hunters in the back seat as their point was -1.
This was followed by another Trump match as Prannoy was up against Sameer Verma. Prannoy was looking to keep his winning streak on and he did exactly that. He has always been upping his game whenever he takes the court. Top class performance from the shuttler, won the match in straight games 11-8, 15-13. Though the first game looked an easy one, in the second, Prannoy was made to sweat a lot by Sameer who was on the verge of pushing this match to a decider.
But Prannoy had his mind determined to take his team into the finals for the second consecutive time. Winning the trump, put Rockets 3 points up while the Hunters still lurking with the negative point.
And therefore, it was all over for the Hunters as Rockets flew into the finals with three matches to spare.
Tomorrow, the Rockets take on Chennai Smashers in the finals in Delhi.
