Marquee names, mighty flops: Big names who have disappointed their fans till now in IPL-9

WE ARE HALFWAY INTO IPL-9 and slowly but surely, we are approaching the business end of the tournament. With almost 40 games completed, picking out teams for the playoffs spot shouldn’t be such a headache. 

While Gujarat, Hyderabad, and Kolkata lead the pack, teams such as Kings XI Punjab, Rising Pune Supergiants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are almost knocking on the exit door. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils have a realistic chance of qualifying fourth. 

But be that as it may, while we have seen some riveting action from the international professionals and Indian domestic players, the fact that some marquee names haven’t stood up to the occasion has been the talking point in the cricketing circle. 

From Chris Gayle, Ravi Ashwin to Suresh Raina, we have seen the top guns struggling for form. While some teams have been lucky to win despite their icon players not performing, some franchises have visibly been affected.
