We are winning because our bowling, batting & fielding has been superb: Rohit Sharma

INDIA HAVE WON 10 out of their last 11 T20I games, thanks to players like Rohit Sharma who has been a consistent performer at the top. And, the opener feels that the team's success is due to the contribution in all three departments of the game.

As reported by Zee news Sharma said,

"We have done well in our last three tournaments and we are not winning just because of one department. We are winning because of our bowling, batting and fielding has been superb."

Sharma continued his form by scoring 98 in the warm-up game yesterday against the West Indies at Kolkata to help beat the visitors by 45 runs.

Sharma has had a lot of good memories at the Eden Gardens, winning two IPL titles under his leadership (2013 and 2015) making a century on Test debut against the West Indies and scoring the highest ODI score of 264 against Sri Lanka. He's also scored an IPL hundred against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the venue.

It's not surprising that Sharma loves to play at the Eden.

"I love playing here. It's been happy hunting ground for me. Whatever cricket I've played here, it's the same. It's nice, I love coming here and playing. It's been good always but that does not mean I score always. I've to bat well to score runs and I was happy with the way it went for the team,” he said.

India's second and final warm-up tie is against the Proteas at the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai tomorrow.
